Western New York’s Premier Black Wellness Resource Directory

Working together, we are increasing the visibility of Black healthcare professionals, removing stigmas surrounding treatment and aligning clinicians and providers with a supportive community of colleagues.

OUR WORK MATTERS.

The absence of sufficient healthcare services, coupled with the under-representation of racial diversity among healthcare providers, plays a significant role in the suicide risk among Black youth. That’s according to the 2024 Report on Black Youth Suicide Prevention by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The numbers tell a sobering story.

With Gratitude

This project has been made possible due to funding that has been dedicated to community-based mental health resources and programs. In response to the mass shooting tragedy that occurred on May 14, 2022 in East Buffalo, the New York State Office of Mental Health implemented a SAMHSA Emergency Response Grant Program that provided mental health and wellness services to East Buffalo from September 16, 2022 to September 15, 2024. The Buffalo SERG Program was named “Reimagine: I am The Change!” to establish an empowering and recognizable identity in East Buffalo.
